Mr Cook was named ADMA Marketer of the Year, an annual accolade awarded to “the most effective, most influential, most driven and prominent individual in the advertising, media, marketing and tech world.”
The founder of oOh! in 1989, Mr Cook has transformed oOh! from a traditional Out Of Home advertising business into a new data-driven, audience-led digital media company with content and publishing capabilities.
Jodie Sangster, CEO of the Association for Data-Driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) said Mr Cook was named Marketer of the Year for his exceptional contribution to the Australian marketing media and advertising industry.
“Brendon has evolved oOh!a from a billboard representation company into Australia’s largest Out Of Home company,” Ms Sangster said.
“He has been at the forefront of the Australian Out Of Home industry and is recognised worldwide for revolutionising the industry with innovative digital media technology that is data-driven and has the ability to be highly targeted and personalised.
“Brendon has played a significant role in evolving this ensuring it remains relevant and continues to provide advertisers with new ways to engage with audiences.”
Mr Cook said: “The evolution of change in a disruptive society is fantastic and as marketers we should be embracing the change”.
A pioneer of Out Of Home’s move into digital, Mr Cook’s is a founder and current board member of the Outdoor Media Association in Australia. He is also the International Vice President of global Out Of Home industry body FEPE (the Federation European Publicite Exterieur) and the first Australian to sit on the organisation’s board in its 50-year history.
